3 Things We Learned Tuesday

1. Fool me 3 times, shame on both of us
The unemployment rate sits at 9.7% right now, the country is still attempting to recover from one of the most devastating financial crises in modern history, and Washington is at it again.
The Democrats are trying to pass another Jobs Bill before President’s Day, next Monday, and the Senate version of the bill costs 85 billion dollars. Hell, what’s another 85 billion dollars? Seems like just another drop in the bucket.
If you remember correctly, Washington attempted to fix our unemployment problem with a Jobs Bill. Then they tried to remedy that by passing another Jobs Bill. Now, they want to give it another shot. Which, in baseball terms, they have one more opportunity before they are done. But when it effects our nation’s future, shouldn’t our leaders look for new solutions instead of resorting to the same tired process of throwing money at a problem? That idea never has, and never will, be successful.
2. Annoying chain e-mails, not fake for once
If you are like us, you receive annoying “funny” emails from people that think you may be interested. Last week we received one of these disturbances with a picture of a billboard and the words “Miss Me Yet?” next to President George W. Bush. Naturally, we went along with our day.
But not the MSM. They have been researching this sign as if it had the location to Curly’s Gold on the back. First they needed to determine whether or not the picture was real (don’t care). Then they needed to fin out where this mystery billbaord was located (don’t care). Finally they needed to find out who would have paid for such an outlandish sign to be displayed (really stop we don’t care).
Thankfully, today’s reporters are keen on Nancy Drew and hardy Boy novels because they cracked the case! The billboard is real, and it is in the tropical paradise of Wyoming, Minnesota. (not two states, just a dumb name for a town)
But the gumshoes in the MSM still have one big piece of the mystery yet to solve, the buyer! They have contacted the owner of the billboard and it was reported that a “small group of business owners” bought the sign.
Now, thanks to the wonders of today’s media, we have uncovered the mystery of the Bush Billboard.
3. Jennymania Rolls On!
Jenny Sanford has been assaulting the media like it was her job, which it currently is her job to sell books.
It has not been reported whether or not she likes this new job, but apparently she never enjoyed her last one.
She was asked whether or not she enjoyed her role as First Lady by the Owl Man, Larry King. During the commercial break she said no. When she was on camera she explained further, “…there are a lot of expectations. I’m not a southerner. There’s a — you oversee the governor’s mansion. There’s a lot that comes with the house. You support your husband in whatever he does. We have a tight budget. You have to manage the budget.”
She added that juggling the job with her motherly duties became nearly impossible.
We don’t blame the future, former Mrs. Sanford for not entirely enjoying her job. It is one that doesn’t pay and is very demanding. We do blame Larry King for setting her up though.
